Visit to a local garden.

As part of Enterprise week we have been learning about jobs that people do in gardens. We went to visit Mrs. Hinsley's garden. She is a gardener and she explained the many jobs she does in creating and managing people's gardens. The first part that impressed us was her eco friendly way of collecting rain water to water her plants. Then she showed us her compost bin; at the top were lots of food scraps and grass cuttings but at the bottom was wonderful dark rich compost which she digs back into the soil to feed the plants.

Mrs. Hinsley explained that people use their gardens for different reasons and she has to think carefully when planning their gardens to include spaces for eating out and entertaining, relaxation and playing, storage, growing fruit or vegetables, pets or wildlife and even drying the washing!
Mrs Hinsley has a favourite part of the garden for relaxing,

But we loved it all!

Thankyou Mrs. Hinsley!
